POPULAR!
Line Editing
A Line Edit takes the editor's focus to the sentence level. Extremely in depth, Line Editing acts to rectify errors in:
-
Spelling
-
Punctuation
-
Capitalisation
-
Syntax
-
Grammar
-
Word usage

This kind of edit is a combination of copyediting and micro-developmental editing (dealing with smaller issues) it acts to:
-
Enhance readability and meaning
-
Improve comprehension and accuracy
-
Fix sentence structure
-
Provide alternative wording
The micro-developmental editing side of Line Editing flags issues with characterisation, language, pace, plot, setting, dialogue and point of view. Recommendations and flags are included in the manuscript as comments (using track changes).

All Line Edits are provided with a comprehensive and unique Style Sheet.
POPULAR!
Because these kinds of edits are so in depth and provide a rounded approach to a manuscript, it is by far the most popular service I offer, excluding Full Publishing Packages.
Proofreading
A Proofread looks for any issues introduced in the post-edited document. It gets your work into its final form before it is submitted (for print, to an agent, or to a publisher).
This type of editing is performed on the PDF version of the manuscript after it has been converted to ebook or print format.
Proofreading ensures there are no egregious errors, manages widow and orphan lines, and provides guidance on:
-
Formatting
-
Design
-
Layout
-
Typography
Developmental Editing
A Developmental Edit focuses only on the developmental aspects of your manuscript. It looks at whether the content is in the right place, the right order, and makes recommendations for changes. This edit is completed through comments and recommendations made within the manuscript itself, often with an accompanying editorial letter (where useful).
This type of edit might look at:
-
The structure of your text
-
The sequence of your content
-
The style of writing used
-
Language
-
Pace
-
Target audience
-
Reduces bias (sexism, racism etc.)
-
The elements of writing
-
Plot
-
Setting
-
Characterisation
-
Dialogue
-
Point of view
A Note on Pricing
I used to have the rates listed on my website, and those numbers were based on the highest rate I would charge. I rarely charged as much as what was listed here, because I calculate rates according to the needs of the manuscript (and the author!). For this reason, I have removed those rates.

Please feel most welcome to email me for an absolutely obligation-free quote for your manuscript and your needs.
